This Young Cop Appeared To Be A Model Officer – But Then Her Secret Double Life Was Exposed

In her career as a cop, Samantha Sepulveda has only the best intentions. Yes, she wanted to help people and thought it would be the easiest way to make a difference to become a law enforcement official. But as the career of Sepulveda progressed, her colleagues realized she was hiding a second secret life. And the cops probably knew if this shocking double life had ever been publicly exposed, then their district would become the laughing stock of the whole police force.

Instead, as far as everyone knew, Sepulveda chose to become a cop. However, a friend pushed the native of Freeport, New York, to pursue a second and secret life. And when the world found out what the officer was doing, people, of course, had a lot to say about her hidden agenda.

Who Is Samantha Sepulveda?

So who is Sepulveda Samantha? Well, understanding where she came from will tell us a lot about who she was. Sepulveda was born in the Dominican Republic in 1984 in Santo Domingo. But the young girl wouldn’t stay for a long time; her mother decided to take her and her sister to a new country for life. Yes, when Sepulveda was only five years old, the trio moved to the United States.

Sepulveda’s mother had a good reason to relocate her family: work in an American plant. She also thought that the US could provide better education and prospects for her daughters. So Sepulveda, five, came to her new home in New York City and then started her first grade.

Then, Sepulveda received a bachelor’s degree from UMass, but she could not complete it. She studied for a Masters of Business Administration in Finance at Hofstra University. And with two degrees in these professional fields, Sepulveda probably seemed intended for a traditional occupation of 9-to-5.

It’s Time To Give Back

But Sepulveda decided to shift her focus when it was time for a career. As she explained in a New York Post exhibit in 2017, Sepulveda realized that she wanted to return something with her work. “It sounds awkward, but what career can I help people more in-money-driven Wall Street or government, where are you protecting people?”

Law Enforcement Career

However, a career in law enforcement seemed like a bizarre choice for Sepulveda–not only because she has studied business and finance for a very long time. After all, the former lacrosse star couldn’t have imagined the traditionally intimidating framework of a cop. She was only 5 feet, 2 inches tall.

But Sepulveda didn’t bother her height–or lack thereof; like any other hopeful officer, she enlisted with the Police Academy. And once she has completed all the training, the recruit has a job. Her post would have her patrol the streets in New York State in Freeport, Long Island.

Her Passion Drove Her

In 2010, Sepulveda began her cop’s life, and her passion for her work did not waver. She told the New York Post, seven years later, what she loves about her job. The officer explained, “It’s because people don’t have to turn to the cops when they call.[ Being a policeman] gave me the chance to give back people who need assistance.”

She also found out that, as a woman in the force, she has an easier time softening the criminals whom she works every day. She explains: “With a woman officer, her guard is reduced. There is less aggression, and the situation is reduced.

Sepulveda’s daily uniform includes a traditional police uniform and a simple cotton hairstyle and a makeup-free face. Such an appearance allegedly makes her “look as male as she can” as she wants to. Yet sometimes the people she chases noticed something else about her. Perhaps they have even an insight into her secret double life?

She Felt Like A Joke

Sepulveda is often faced with jokes from the people to whom she speaks and arrests. People will say things like, “You can always arrest me!” And once, the cop recalled, a suspect stopped dead in his footsteps, realizing what the woman was looking like.

She and her partner chased down a man who attacked his wife and then threatened them both as they tailed him, Sepulveda told the New York Post. However, when the suspect saw Sepulveda, he said, “You’re the best-looking cop I’ve ever seen! Can I take you on a date?”

Sepulveda’s look helps her most often in her quest to protect the streets. Sepulveda even admitted she relied upon her appearance to subdue people of interest, rather than whispering weapons. Well, Sepulveda ‘s colleagues treat her with great respect – but her beauty was not ignored. Because of this, she decided to take up a second, secret career. Yet, according to the Fremont officer, it is not abnormal to the cops. Sepulveda even said that many of her colleagues had gigs outside the force.

But the male colleagues of Sepulveda tend to work in more traditional fields. Most apparently moonlights as plumbers or electricians aspire to trade work that somehow seems to keep with what the world could expect of a person in such a practical career. However, as regards Sepulveda, she said, “I have been under a microscope since I began.”

So when the coworkers of Sepulveda discovered her second life, some heads turned. This is because her side turmoil has little to do with her finance and business training–even if she incorporates aspects of her education. No, her second career had more than anything to do with her looks. How did it happen?

Sepulveda became a model when her friend happened to work for a lingerie and swimwear company. Her friend realized that the officer has the face and body that is perfect to be a model for their runway fashion show. Since then, Sepulveda has taken her modeling career worldwide to Australia, Spain, Nicaragua, and England. The police officer also debuted at the New York Fashion Week 2017, which she described as “exciting.”

Sepulveda slipped on the catwalk during the New York Fashion Week into a bridal gown to conclude Azulant Akora’s show. The designer explained why the cop moonlight is the right model for her show. “Her confidence inspires me,” Akora told the New York Post. I feel Sam represents thousands of years, and I wanted to create a wedding gown for thousands of years.

The display gown had lines of hand-stitched beads, which represented the water flow and ebb. Sepulveda, too, slipped into the dress and sloped down the path. She said that the feeling of a “hot call” was reflected in the station.

But not all secret double life stories have such a happy ending. Take Paige Birgfeld’s tale–by definition, she’s a supermom. When Paige missed her daughter, Jess, in 2007, for two days, she insisted that her nanny called the police. She knew little, however, that she would never see her mom again. Moreover, the reasons for the disappearance of Paige turned the lives of her family upside down.

She Disappeared

At the time of her disappearance, Paige Birgfeld was 34 years old. She lived in Grand Junction, Colorado, her three children’s single mother, Taft, Kohl, and Jess. She was divorced twice, with her second husband, Robert Dixon, born to her three children.

Birgfeld did all she could to sustain her daughter and sons’ needs. She has run several businesses, selling products like slings and kitchenware. She has also undertaken several other undertakings, including opening a dance school.

Her daughter Jess described her as a “soccer mother.” She was dedicated to her children and drove them everywhere, even allowing them to sleep in her bed. She was a supermom’s very definition. However, events were soon to send the lives of her children into a tailspin.

She traveled 120 miles on Thursday, 28 June 2007, with her first husband, Howard Biegler, a 37-year-old. She seemed to be dying and, just after 9 a.m., called Biegler to tell him that she was almost home. Birgfeld didn’t come back home on that Thursday.

Odd work hours were just parts of all her many jobs and businesses, though, so the children’s nanny didn’t think about it. Her daughter Jess, on the other hand, did–and subsequently insisted her nanny would call the cops.

Her Car Was All Burnt Out

The next day, police found Birgfeld’s Ford Focus burned down in a parking lot, a few kilometers away from the Grand Junction house, while finding several of its belongings, including business cards and checks, thrown down a road southeast of her home.

Another Ominous Turn

The investigation into the disappearance of Birgfeld soon took another disgraceful turn when Police found out that her professional life has a shocking secret. In addition to all her other businesses, there was a company she had not made public.

Escort Service

Birgfeld secretly ran an escort service–something that only her closest friends knew about. Not even her family members knew what she was doing. Frank Birgfeld, their father, said to the Daily Mail: “I can’t tell you how I’d have reacted negatively.”

Exotic Dancer

Also, Birgfeld had enjoyed a successful stint as an exotic dancer in her 20s. She even met her second husband at a strip club. The later divorce from him, however, left Birgfeld in dire financial straits, when she turned to escort to pay her bills.

She Does It Herself

As per her friends, instead of sending other women, usually, Birgfeld would go on the dates she organized. And yet they claimed that she would not “prostitute.” However, her ads described her services as the ones of an “escort, erotic [and] private dancer.”

Clear Lines

Jamie Silvernail, an old friend of Birgfeld’s, told the People’s magazine, “There is a very distinct line between legal and illegal.” She knew she could endanger her children if she crossed that line.

No Trace Of Her

But despite this revelation and the interviews with customers from the escort company of Birgfeld, the police found no trace of it for five long years. A walker then made a horrendous discovery in Delta County in 2012.

Missing Person

Yes, the hiker pulled up bones from a creek bed. And by using dental records, it was decided that they belonged to Birgfeld. The search for a lost person has developed into a murder, with investigators only hoping to find new information on this new evidence.

Person Of Interest

Officers soon turned back to Lester Ralph Jones, a Colorado mechanic who, in 2007, was regarded as a “person of interest.” Jones was one of the last customers of Birgfeld to contact her before her disappearance. And finally, he was arrested by police in November 2014.

Evidence

On the evening of Birgfeld ‘s assassination, Jones left his house for a little over an hour, making an excuse for his wife to forget to turn off the lights on her work. Also, not long after Birgfeld disappeared, the police in his toolbox discovered many suspicious objects. These items included telephone numbers, bra sizes, and men’s wigs. Moreover, Birgfeld sold a food scale of the kind through one of her firms.

Criminal Record

Before his arrest in 2014, Jones had a first-degree assault and second-degree abduction record. Indeed, he ‘d been behind bars for five years. Also, throughout the investigation into Birgfeld ‘s disappearance, he made contradictory statements by the police –certainly increasing their suspicions further.

Stood In Trial

Jones’ case stepped up in September 2016, but a unanimous verdict was not reached in the jury. The lawsuit ends in a mistrial. Jones ‘ second trial was due three months later, in December 2016.

The jury found Jones, 65, guilty. Consequently, he was convicted of murder and abduction and sentenced to life imprisonment without a chance of parole. The Prosecutor’s Office of Mesa County told People magazine that “While this decision will not bring Paige Birgfeld back to her family, yet we’re happy he will close his family’s mourning.”

When Paige Birgfeld disappeared that night in June 2007, her poor children could not have known it was the last time they would be witnessing her–or that their mom’s shocking dual life truth would soon become evident. However, hopefully, they can rest a little easier knowing that their murderer was finally in prison.
