Working From Home? Check Out These Quick Tips To Create The Perfect Home Office

Develop A Good Work Environment

Before you even, you need to find an area in your home where you know you’ll be the most productive. Ideally, you will want to pick a spot that is away from distractions and the quietest area in the house. If possible, it’s better to work in a separate room, where you can close the door -even better.

Declutter

Let’s be honest, when you have a work station swapped with paperwork, coffee cups, and other clutter it’s very unlikely that you are able to be the most productive. Make sure to always have a clean, clutter-free work environment where you can concentrate at the best level possible. Its no problem to have a few extra papers, pens, or stickys’ on your desk but anything more will most likely sidetrack your focus.

Set Up Correct Lighting

Having the correct lighting is probably one of the most important things to consider when setting up your home office. Not only should the lighting be correct but you need sufficient lighting too as it will help reduce eyestrain. If it’s possible to set up an area near a window or close to a sunny spot in your home – that will be even better. If you’re needing to supplement overhead lighting, consider getting a table lamp or al long-standing floor lamp to create the perfect lit workspace.

Use A Comfortable Chair

Be sure that your chair is as comfortable as possible. Not all of us have the privilege of owning an orthopedic office chair in our homes, but the good news is you can easily make the perfect chair for your home office. You can simply add a small pillow for back support and extra comfort. Especially, as you’ll be sitting for long periods of time, it’s so important to have a good, supportive chair.

Don’t Work From Your Bed Or The Couch

Working from home might give you the idea to snuggle up on the couch or get cozy in the bed with your laptop, right? Well, we’re here to give to make you think otherwise, it’s really best to avoid these situations and only work from a desk or table. Firstly, ergonomically this is not suitable and secondly, if you work in your bed, you may soon start to associate your bedroom with a working environment. We can’t stress this enough- keep your work time separate from your relaxing time…you’ll thank us later!
