Before becoming famous, he attended Florida State University on a football scholarship and played halfback for the squad. His first year went by without a hitch, but his sophomore year was cut short due to a knee injury. He attempted to return, but his injury hindered him, and he decided that athletics were not for him. That was only a detour because he grew interested in acting while participating in school plays.
