Happy at School
Sarah would be attending the elementary school in her neighborhood for the following academic year as a student in the third grade. She had a wonderful experience in elementary school and was able to make a large number of friends there. In second grade, Sarah’s favorite subjects were painting and music, and her teacher, Mrs. Banna, was always pushing her to follow those interests. Sarah’s favorite subjects were music and painting.

However, she was set to start with a new teacher in third grade. She wished to have Mrs. Banna’s warmth and friendliness. Sadly, Sarah’s new teacher was the complete opposite.
Meet Mrs. Thompson
Mrs. Thompson made the decision that she wanted to start her teaching career in Sarah’s class as her very first formal teaching assignment after she had just recently earned her certification. This was Mrs. Thompson’s very first formal teaching assignment. She has a firm conviction that there are particular topics that children should be taught in school and that there are particular instructional methods that are the most useful for a child’s capacity to acquire new knowledge.

She considered arts trivial and wished to encourage early math and science study. Sarah and her class faced a major upheaval. Nothing could prepare them for Mrs. Thompson’s rule.
